Hey there! I'm Mike.

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. This blog is all about my journey with GLP-1/GIP medication called tirzepatide (or Zepbound), my weight loss ups and downs, and the quest for better health (spoiler alert: it takes a lifetime).

If you're looking for real talk about shedding pounds, keeping them off, and navigating the world of weight loss meds, you're in the right place.

If you are just thinking about using these medications, I can tell you about them. And if you are on them too, I look forward to hearing what you have to say and share.

Losing over 50 pounds was not easy.

It took time, effort, and a whole lot of learning. It took some money. I took some discipline. But here I am, feeling healthier and more confident than ever. And you know what? I want to share what worked for me so maybe it will help you. This includes the good, the bad, and yes, even the embarrassing stuff.

If my experiences can help you reach your goals faster, then it's all worth it. And I can learn from yours so be sure to share your comments and ideas too.

So, what is on myGLPlife.com?

First up, I'm going to share my personal experience with GLP-1/GIP medication. These are relatively new players in the weight loss game, and there's a lot to unpack. I'll share how they worked for me, the side effects I dealt with, and the impact they've had on my life. Mostly all good. Mostly.

But it's not all about the shots. I've picked up a ton of tips and tricks along the way, from tweaking my diet to finding exercises that don't bore me to death or make me want to curl up and cry. I'll be sharing all of these, along with the tools that have been game-changers for me.

Now, I am not a medical doctor (I do have a PhD) but I am a dedicated follower of the latest scientific developments in weight loss medicine. Every day, I'm reading up on new studies, following the experts, and trying to make sense of it all. I'll break down the science into bite-sized pieces that don't require a PhD to understand because honestly you don’t need that.  But some of this stuff is complicated and I am going to try to make it easy to understand, at least to my simple mind.

Let's be real – there's a lot of debate out there about medication-assisted weight loss. Some folks think these new medications are miracles while others are more skeptical. They were life changing for me but I promise to give you the full picture. When I share my thoughts, I'll make sure to explain where I'm coming from and why I feel that way and let you make up your own mind.

One thing you can count on: I'm committed to giving you solid, trustworthy info. Everything I share will be backed up by reputable sources – we're talking peer-reviewed journals, respected news outlets, and insights from people who really know their stuff. No sketchy fad diets or miracle cures here. I’m not selling a program or a supplement. I’m just sharing myself and what I have learned along this journey.

I do have a Reviews & Shop page where I share the products and tools that helped me. You don’t have to buy them and you may have alternatives. That is fine. I am just sharing so you don’t have to start from scratch if you don’t want to. And I do earn a little bit of extra money if you buy them.

The world of weight loss strategies can be overwhelming. That's why I'm here. Think of me as your friendly guide, helping you navigate the ups and downs of this journey. It really is just about my life since taking GLP1/GIP medicines.

Whether you're just starting out, you're in the thick of it, or you're working on maintaining your progress, I hope you'll find something helpful here. We're all in this together, and every small victory is worth celebrating.

So, welcome. Here's to healthier, happier lives – one shot at a time, and one pound at a time! Happy reading, and welcome to myGLPlife.com!

Mike

DISCLAIMER: This site is for informational and entertainment purposes and is not medical advice. Always consult a physician before starting any new medication or weight loss program. I did, and it is a must for a safe and effective approach to healthy weight loss. In fact, I share a few tips in a blog post on what to look for in a physician or provider to help you form a positive relationship that supports good discussions about weight management and maybe you will even look forward to that weigh-in when you go see them. Imagine that!?
